South Bruce is in Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. was elected. Elected or accolaimed to council are: Mike Niesen, Ron (Huck) Schnurr, Margie Bates, Mike McDonagh, Wayne Huber, and Mark Goetz. Bates is the sole incumbent.
Central Huron has recently entered Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. Incumbent Mayor Jim L. Ginn and Deputy Mayor David Jewitt were acclaimed. Incumbents Marg Anderson, Alex Westerhout, Danny Colquhoun Burkhard Metzger and Alison Lobb were re-elected, joined by newcomer Genny Smith.
Huron Kinloss is in Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. Incumbent Mayor Mitchell Twolan was re-elected. Debuty Mayor Wilf Gamble and councillors Lillian Abbott, Jeff Elliott, James Hanna, Donald Murray and Carl Sloetjes were all incumbent and were acclaimed.
Brockton is in Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. Mayor David Inglis was reelected, while former deputy mayor Roland Anstett was ousted by Dan Gieruszak. NWMO critic Christopher Peabody topped the polls and is the only incumbent councillor; newcomers are Steve Adams, Chris Oberle, Dean Leifso and Bill Bell.
The Township of Spanish is in Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. Ted Clague was elected mayor with approximately double the votes cast for former mayor Gary Bishop. The new council includes newcomers Karen Von Pickartz and Ruthann Bacon and incumbents Jocelyne Bishop and Anthony Diodati. Karen Von Pickartz topped the polls.
Terrace Bay is not officially in the NWMO process, but has expressed "interest" based on its nieighbour, Schreiber, being in Step 3(b) of the NWMO siting process. In Terrace Bay, incumbent Mayor Jody Davis was acclaimed. The new council includes top runners and newcomers Karen Morley and Bert Johnson, followed by incumbents Michael Moore and Gino Leblanc.
Elliot Lake is in Step 3(a) of the NWMO siting process. Dan Marchisella was elected mayor with close to triple the votes cast for former mayor Rick Hamilton. The new council includes newcomers Luc Cyr who topped the polls, Connie Nykyforak, Candace Martin Scott, Tammy Vanroon and Scot Reinhardt, and a single incumbent, Norman Mann.
