The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), which is looking for a long-term for high-level nuclear waste, will be coming to the region in September to hold public presentations on the proposed project to area residents.
Mike Krizanc, the NWMO’s communications manager, was in the area this week having interactive kiosks, along with brochures, placed in local communities to provide an explanation on what the organization is doing.
The NWMO placed interactive kiosks in the town halls of Blind River, Spanish and the Township of the North Shore. In Elliot Lake, the kiosk was set up in the lobby of the Lester B. Pearson Civic Centre.
The video display portion of the kiosk comes in four languages: English, French, Oji-Cree and Ojibwa.
